This month in the 02/19 subscription box from ILoveGin.com I received Jawbox’s Classic Dry Gin and Pineapple and Ginger Gin Liqueur and 2 bottles of Merchant’s Heart “Spirit Enhancer”; one ginger ale and the other tonic water with a hint of pink peppercorn.
Classic Dry Gin
I served this with the pink peppercorn tonic water, ice and lime. If I’m honest, I couldn’t really taste the pink peppercorn in the tonic. That’s not to say it wasn’t a good mixer for the gin. The Classic Dry Gin did what it said on the tin. It tasted like a classic dry gin. You could put this next to the big names like Gordon’s and Tanqueray and it would compete easily.
Pineapple and Ginger Gin Liqueur
One of the recommended servings for this was the ginger ale, some pineapple and lime. I thought that sounded good so that’s how I had it. The gin liqueur was delicious. It was sweet with the pineapple and the ginger brought a slight spicy and aromatic quality. This was enhanced by the ginger ale which wasn’t overpowering. I found it to have a nice earthiness. I would definitely buy both the liqueur and the ginger ale for my own collection.
ILoveGin.com have provided me with this box to review. I have not been paid for this review and my words are entirely my own.
