The Green Mug Tea

I was recently had the opportunity to sample some different teas from The Green Mug, “retailers of premium organic herbal loose-leaf tea that is imported directly from around the world”.

I was given samples of Elderberry Support, Stomach Elixir, Chai Herbal, Herbal Vitality and Skin Caffeine-free.

Elderberry Support

This tea had a very subtle berry smell. There was a lot of dried fruit in the mixture which made a nice change from the more commercial versions which are mostly dust. The tea was floral but not flowery and had hints of vanilla.

Stomach Elixir

The tea seemed to be mostly peppermint, which is well known to be good for the stomach. I also noticed flavours of fennel and ginger. I really liked it because it wasn’t as intense as some of the other mint teas on the market.

Chai Herbal

Wonderful tea, probably my favourite of them all. The tea was delicately spiced with cardamom, fennel and coriander. There was a really pleasant sensation of heat from one of the ingredients (but I couldn’t work out where!). Very nice indeed.

Herbal Vitality

This tea smelled like mint sauce when I opened the packet – not to say that it was unpleasant! I found this tea to be mildly minty but not a lot else.

Skin Caffeine-free.

Super fruity this one. You can see all the fruit in the packet and taste loads of it when it’s brewed. There’s a lovely sharpness to the flavour which was unexpected and I really liked.

I was really happy to try all of these teas. I can particularly recommend the Chai Herbal tea. As mentioned, it was delicately spiced and really very delightful to drink. I could easily relax with a good book and a cup of Chai Herbal.

Thanks again to The Green Mug Teas for the samples.

I love herbal teas but anything that claims to be an elixir, hmmnn… I definitely love fruity teas.

I love trying new tea flavors, makes it fun and exciting! I’ll have to try the fruity teas, especially with Spring coming (seems like fruity flavors are a must in the warmer months)

Elderberry is so great! I made a tea of that and honey the last time I was sick. I added echinachea, too!
